Frederic Bazille

Frederic Bazille was a French impressionist painter whose major paintings would foreground the painting's subject within a landscape painted en plein air. He was similar in style to close friends Monet and Sisley and was similarly committed to the rise of Impressionism across France and Europe. Jean Frédéric Bazille was a French Impressionist painter whose most famous for paintings with subjects depicted in the foreground against landscapes, as shown in Le Petit Jardinier. Bazille was good friends with Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, and Édouard Manet and played an important role in the rise of impressionism. Bazille tried to encourage other artists and felt his wealth should be put to good use. He would donate to others rather than spend generously on himself and followed a course in art for the love of it and a desire to expand on the success on impressionism paintings.
