William Bouguereau was a traditional artist who painted with truly realistic depictions along mythological themes, with modern interpretations and a common use of female subjects. Bouguereau was very famous in his time but today his style and technique, with realism, have become less popular than artists from the Impressionist period, with art fans preferring to buy prints and posters with more emotional symbols and imagination in colour.
