Robert Gibb
Robert Gibb was a famous Scottish artist from the 19th and 20th century who is best known for his military based painting titled The Thin Red Line. Robert Gibbs was Keeper of the National Gallery of Scotland between the years of 1895 to 1907 and also was Painter and Limner to the King from 1908. Robert Gibb paintings are best remembered for his romantic, historical and Scottish military paintings but there were periods of successful portraits at times when the artist was looking to cover expenses with commissioned works. Some of his best known paintings can now be found in the various Scottish national galleries. We include some of the best Gibb paintings below that you can buy as handmade reproductions. Other famous Scottish artists are also available such as Raeburn and Wilkie.
