The Château de Steen with Hunter by Rubens was painted around 1635-8. It was a key painting by this Flemish 17th century artist.

In 1635, Rubens bought an estate outside of Antwerp. This was the subject of this painting, the Château de Steen (Het Steen), where he spent much of his time in the preceding years.
